Queenstown Airport is the gateway to one of New Zealand's most stunning locations.
Located in the shadows of the imposing Remarkables mountain range, the airport welcomes visitors from many other New Zealand domestic airports, and several Australian airports.
Stepping from your plane onto the runway, your eyes are drawn to your surroundings, and we always marvel at the beauty of the area. Landing in the cooler months is a special experience, with the Remarkables capped with snow. At over 2,000 metres high, they are a site to behold. Depending on your flight path, you may also be lucky enough to fly over Lake Wakatipu, shimmering below.

There is one terminal at Queenstown Airport servicing both international and domestic services.
As at March 2025, direct flights to Queenstown were available from:

Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast
Domestic - New Zealand

South Island - Christchurch, Stewart Island, Milford Sound (weather dependant)

There are several EV charging stations located in car park A. Please refer to the airport website for more information.
There's a wide range of transport options available to and from the airport, including taxi's, shuttles, limousines, and Uber. Some hotels also offer a shuttle service so please check with your accommodation provider.

The Orbus public bus service is a very cost effective option for exploring Queenstown and Arrowtown. For discounted fares you will need a Bee Card which you can buy online, at the Otago Regional Council in Frankton (only during Council business hours), or at the Paper Plus store located within the airport terminal. You can also purchase the card on the bus with cash.
Orbus buses leave the airport about every 15 minutes between 6.44am to 7.44pm, and around 30 minutes from 8.14pm to 12.44am.

Queenstown Airport have a free Pick-up Drop-off zone directly outside the terminal. If you need a little longer, they also offer free parking for stays of less than 20 minutes in the designated pick-up drop-off bays in terminal car park A. These spots are signposted P20.
The airport also offers parking for stays of 20 minutes or more, including long term parking (charges apply). These spaces are available in car parks A and B.
Mobility parking
The airport provides two mobility P60 car parks. These are directly outside the terminal for pick-ups / drop-offs, and are free of charge. For longer stays there are also designated mobility car parks in the A and B car parks with four spots at the front of car park A.

Wifi - the airport offers free Wifi up to 2gb per 24 hour period - select "Queenstown Airport Free WIFI"
ATM's and Currency exchange - there's a Travelex desk and there are three Travelex Foreign Exchange ATMs that offer New Zealand and Australian currency. They are located in the main terminal next to the Travelex counter, in International Arrivals, and in the Domestic baggage claim area.
Lockers - are located outside the terminal and are available for a fee.
Phones and SIM cards - a public phone is located outside near the check-in area. Phone cards can be purchased at the PaperPlus newsagency in the main terminal.
